Comparing the Yakima HoldUp and Yakima HoldUp EVO
Question:
The 4 bike EVO rack is about $100 more than the 4 bike Holdup. What are the differences and is it worth the extra money?

The differences between the Yakima HoldUp # Y02443-2 and the HoldUp EVO # Y02479-2 include an integrated SpeedKnob to take out movement of the bike rack, an easier system for tilting the bike rack, and the ability to add fat bike tires (up to 5" wide).
Aside from that these bike racks are pretty identical in their designs. If you have fat tire bikes and/or would like the tool-free SpeedKnob then the EVO is the way to go. Otherwise the easier tilting handle as opposed to the pin isn't so much of an upgrade that I would advise spending a significant amount of money for.
For the added price, the EVO is definitely worth it but only if you need those extra features. Attached are some review videos so that you can see the comparisons in action.
These do count as kits on our site so it isn't a guarantee that all of the locks with have the same cores. To ensure that you can use 1 key for all of the locks you would also need to get the 6-pack of cores # Y07206 or just wait until you get the parts and then order replacement cores for one of the parts in the kit.
