Is There An Adapter for the Ford Puck System Hitch to Be Compatible With Above Bed Rails?

Question:

I have a B and W hitch for the ford puck system for my 2016 ford F350. I also own a 2010 Ford f350 without the puck system and was trying to see if anyone made a set of above bed rails that would allow me to use my puck system hitch in after market rails? I would like to have a back up truck to pull my camper

There is an adapter from the Ford factory puck system to standard base rails to make standard 5th wheel hitches compatible with the pucks, but there is not an adapter for the puck system hitch to fit industry standard base rails.

For your B&W hitch to work in your 2010 F-350, you would need to use the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWGNRK1108-5W and then use the Replacement Base for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - 20,000 lbs # BWRVB3500. This will allow your Companion hitch head to fit the system.

There is not a base for that companion head that uses the industry standard above bed base rails.

If you want a backup system that is more economical, I recommend the custom base rail kit # RP50082-58 and the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs # RP30047 or the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 18,000 lbs # BWRVK3255 which uses a different head than your Companion which unfortunately is not compatible with the Patriot base.
