Bike Rack for Ford F-150 to Transport Electric Bike with Step-Thru Frame
Question:
I have a new ebike that Im wanting to transport in the back of our F150 truck. It is an adult step through with fenders and hydraulic disc brakes. What would the best rack that fits in the back of the truck. We do not want to use a rack with our trailer hitch since we need that often for our camper.

Since your electric bike has fenders and a step-thru type frame the best option for transporting it in the bed of your Ford F-150 is the rack that you referenced, the Topline Truck Bed Expandable Bike Rack # UG2500. If you only need a rack for the one bike we also offer a single-bike version # UG2500-1.
Because your bike does not have a top frame tube as most men's bikes do you can use the seat post as the attachment point for the rack's clamps. The photo I linked for you shows the rack's adjustable clamp installed on a seat post. The available expansion part # AB2600 lets you add more bike capacity if and when you need it, which is a handy feature.
A completely different option is to install a front-mounted hitch receiver like # 65067 on the F-150 which would let you use a hitch-mount e-bike rack like the Thule EasyFold # TH903202. The EasyFold is the best available hitch rack for electric bikes. There are several advantages to this front-hitch setup although it is indeed a more costly option. You also will have an easier time of maneuvering your trailer with the front hitch installed.
