Recommended Air Bag Kit for a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 Without Leaf Spring Suspension
Question:
I really would like a Firestone bag and like where this mounts. Only issue I see is the U bolt As there is no leafs to keep it in place. Also my bump stop is removed but still a threaded hole in frame. Any help would be great.

We do have air bag kits for your 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 that don't use the U-Bolts like you see with the Firestone Air Bag Kit # F2430 that you referenced.
Air Lift is actually another popular air bag kit manufacturer and they have part # AL57204 if you have a short bed or part # AL57211 if you have the 8' long bed. These install in the same location as the Firestone kit, have a weight rating of 5,000 lbs, and do not require drilling in the frame unless you have a 5th wheel or gooseneck hitch installed with the brackets on the side of the frame. Please note that these will not increase the weight rating of your Sierra, it is only designed to support a suspension that is in good working order.
I also recommend installing the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System # AL25980 because it keeps you from having to search for a compressor when you need to add air. the wireless remote gives you the option to be inside or outside of your cab while you inflate the air bags.
Attached is an installation video of the # AL57204 kit on a 2016 Silverado 1500, the compressor kit on a 2016 Sierra 2500, and the written instructions for all of the kits that you can reference.
