Troubleshooting No Power to MaxxFan RV Roof Vent MA00-04000K
Question:
I recently went to install my Maxxair 00-04000K 12V Roof Top Fan/Vent and when it came time to power it up.. .nothing. not a beep. Not a light. The power source is good so there must be an issue with the unit. What can I do to fix this? I dont want to remove it if I have to.

If you have tested the RV's power and ground wires leading to your MaxxFan Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-04000K and you have a full 12V of power reaching the vent's fan motor then there might be damage to the unit's control circuitry or the motor itself.
If you apply a voltmeter like # PT89ZR to your power source wiring and you are not detecting a full 12 volts then it could be an issue with a depleted battery. This vent's motor draws 5-amps in use.
If you have a spare battery known to be fully charged you can try using this charged battery to test the fan instead of the usual RV power source. This battery can be used to test the entire fan unit as well as to separately test just the motor by connecting the motor leads directly to the battery. If the motor operates when directly powered then the issue is probably in the control board.
