Suspension Needed for a 1973 Trillium Travel Trailer

Question:

Hi , We own a 1000 # 13 foot trailer made in 1973. It does not have a suspension at all and wonder if we should add one and if so what type? thanks,

Adding suspension to your trailer is definitely beneficial as it helps to reduce stress on the frame. The most common type of suspension system for a trailer is one that uses leaf springs. To install this you would need a hanger kit like part # APS4 and then leaf springs like part # e84SR which are used if you have an axle diameter of 1-3/4".

We also carry the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension Systems like part # A12RS440 which includes hubs that have a 4 on 4" bolt pattern. I like to recommend these because they are much easier to install than a hanger kit and leaf springs plus they require less maintenance. There is a price increase included with this though.

If you can send me a picture of the axle on your 1973 Trillium trailer I can help you determine which would be the best setup for you.
