Leaf Spring Recommendation for Trailer with 5,200 lb Dexter Axles
Question:
I broke a leaf spring the current springs appear to measure 26-1/4inch eye to eye but they are old and seem fairly flat. they also appear odd because of the position if the equalizer. 2+ years ago i installed dexter EZ flex equalizer not sure i installed the correct one I am not sure which one i installed although i bought it from you guys. what is the proper one? is there a way to tell what i actually installed? I think i has 13-143 on it and was 7-3/4inch but again not sure. the spacing on the axles is 33-33-1/2inch the springs are double eye 4 leaf I will include a picture of the id plate on axle. I am trying to decide if i just replace 2 shocks or 4 shocks and if i should replace the hanger kit. please advise regarding springs and hanger. thanks

Are you looking for replacement leaf springs since you said you broke the one you have now which measures 26-1/4 inches yet seems to be pretty flat. We have the leaf spring part # e34SR which is 25-1/4 inches long and is rated for a 6,000 lb axle which would be closest match to your 5,200 lb Dexter axles. Since springs flatten out and get longer over time this is most likely the correct size you'd need.
Most likely the EZ Flex equalizer you installed is the part # K71-653-00 based on the dimensions you listed and the axle spacing you have. If all of the shocks are bad you'd want to replace them all. At the very least you'd need to replace both sides of any axle you have to replace. If your hangers are currently fine you wouldn't need to replace them. You didn't list a reason to replace them though so I am not sure why you'd want to.
