Transom Tie Downs to Secure a 2000 World Cat 266 Leisure Cat

Question:

I am looking for advice on which Re-Tractable Ratchet Straps would work the best to secure my 266inch World Cat on the trailer at the transom. From what I have read on your site, my guess is maybe the Erickson Re-Tractable Ratchet Straps because of the length of strap, Safe work load and max load. If so... will the mounting brackets for the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Tie-Down Straps work to give me a better angle/position?

Expert Reply:

BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Down Straps # IMF08893 are the highest rated Boat Buckle option at a safe working load limit of 833 pounds each and break strength of 2,500 pounds each. And they will work with the brackets, # IMF14254, that you mentioned. The brackets will indeed afford you more mounting options and better angles to tie down the rear of the boat.

We also have Erickson set # EM34423 which is rated for 1,333 pounds working load limit each and 4,000 pounds break strength each if you are wanting a little more capacity. I have linked videos of both sets for you.
