Distance Hollywood Rack Sport Rider HLY84FR Adds to Rear of Vehicle
Question:
I have one follow-up question. I am considering this rack for my 2008 Rav4. This vehicle has a rear spare tire on the back door, which also swings out to open. I’m hoping to get a hitch that folds down low enough (without bikes) to enable the back door to swing fully open so I won’t have to remove the rack to open the door. What is the distance from the top of the hitch bar to the highest part of the rack when it is folded down? With this information I should be able to determine if there will be enough clearance for the door to swing open.

We've found that the Hollywood Rack Sport Rider part # HLY84FR adds about 27-1/2 inches to the back of a vehicle. The distance from the hitch pin to the furthest point out is right at 29 inches. From the pin hole to the anti-rattle handle measures 16 inches.
