How Often Should Grease Seal be Changed or Checked on a Lance Trailer
Question:
I purchase 4 brake assembly plates from eTrailer for my Lance trailer. The brakes had never been change, the wheel hub had never been removed. I purchase the trailer in 2013 new. This was the first time I looked inside the wheel hub. 3 of 4 of the original brake plates had grease from the wheel bearing seal on them. See the attached photo. Why is there grease? Do I need to change the inner seal more often. I keep the wheel bearings greased with a recommended high temperature grease to the manufactures recommended schedule with the e-z-lube setup. Am I putting too much grease through the e-z-lube setup? What thoughts do you have for me. All the parts, and expertise you offered made the change out easy. Thanks

If you have owned the trailer since 2013 and you haven't changed out anything then it is very possible that the seal was bad. We recommend checking your hub and drum assemblies as well as repacking the bearings and checking for damage on your seals at least once a year or every 12,000 miles.
When you have a good seal on your hub and drum assembly then you will see the grease come out the front of your assembly as the seal will keep it from seeping into your brake assembly.
I have attached an installation video of the etrailer Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K that you purchased so that you can see how much grease we added as well as a trailer maintenance schedule to keep your trailer in good working order.
