How to Install a 5-Way on a 2011 Kia Sorento
Question:
My boat trailer has surge brakes that must be dis-engaged when backing up. This is done by getting power to the brakes from the backup lamps on the vehicle. So, I need a 5 pole wireing harness but all seem to be 4 pole. How do I wire the brake release with a 4 pole? Should I just run a seperate wire from backup lamp to the trailer brake with a seperate disconnect? Please advise.

The best way to get a 5-way harness at the back of your 2011 Kia Sorento would be to first install a 4-way wiring harness like a Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring # C56332 that you referenced. Installation instructions are attached.
Next, you will need a Adapter 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter # 20036. This will plug into the 4-way and convert it to a functioning 5-way as there is a wire that will be run to the reverse light circuit. Check out the video I attached that shows how this product installs.
