Low Cost Rooftop Cargo Box Alternative to Replace Thule Force

Question:

Can I order only the Thule Force XL lid to replace my broken smashed lid? The rest seems to be ok but the lid itself was ruined in an accident with a garage roof.

Although we do offer a lot of replacement parts for rooftop cargo boxes such as the Thule Force XT # TH6356B they do not offer only the top/lid portion of any of their cargo boxes as a stand-alone replacement part. We do have the Force if you want to order the same unit but if you would prefer a lower-cost cargo box to replace the Force XL we can help you with that too.

For example, Trunx offers their 18-cubic-foot box # TRX34FR. This offer slightly more volume capacity than the Force XL and it offers tool-free installation and includes a lock for the rear-opening lid. This box is made in the USA and it carries a limited lifetime warranty. Please refer to the linked review video for more details.

The box external dimensions are 56-1/2 long x 38-3/4 wide x 19-inches tall. The # TRX34FR will fit roof racks with bar spacing of 22- to 31-inches and the mounting hardware is compatible with rack crossbars up to 3-3/4 x 1-3/16-inches in size.

An accessory that is handy with any rooftop cargo carrier is the Telesteps Folding Step # TE97FR.
I own this item and it is as handy around the house and garage as it is when taking trips with roof cargo. The step is inexpensive, lightweight, comes fully-assembled but it instantly gives you about a foot of extra reach to make it easier to load and unload your cargo items.
