Compatibility of Single Electric Bike on Bike Rack

Question:

Will the 66 lb total max weight capacity of the thule 65JV with a max weight of 33lb per bike can be replaced with only one ebike weighting 55lbs. I ask because in this forum one expert says it can be done placing the bike closest to the trunk , and another expert says it wont hold.

The Thule OutWay 2-Bike Platform Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms # TH65JV is only compatible with bikes up to 33 lbs each. It will not be compatible with a single bike weighing 55 lbs.

There is not a trunk mounted option at this time that is compatible with an e-bike like what you have, so I've attached a link to all the hitch mounted e-bike options to assist. If you will only be carrying one bike, I recommend the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo 1 Bike # RKY10007 which is compatible with a bike up to 60 lbs.
