Trailer Hitch for a 2009 Toyota Highlander with 19 Inch Spare Tire
Question:
Will this trailer hitch fit over my full size 19 spare tire on my 2009 Toyota Highlander? Your website says it wont, but a local ADD-ON dealership near me said it would. Can you help?

Helpful Expert Reply:
In order to retain the full size (19") spare tire on your 2009 Toyota Highlander you will want to use the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75726, not the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75586. The manufacturer of the Max-Frame has informed us that this hitch should not be used on vehicle's with 19" spare tire which we must aide by even though you have had other dealerships tell you otherwise. I cannot go against what the manufacturer states but you are welcome to try and use this hitch with your 19" spare tire but I don't see why you would want to take the risk as we have one that has been confirmed to fit 19" spare tire without modifications.
I have attached an install video of the correct trailer hitch for you as well.
