Will the Rear Bumper Support Need to be Removed for a Hitch on a 1989 Suzuki Sidekick

Will this interfere with the factory gas tank guard?

Per the instructions, the rear impact bar that you referenced will need to be removed to install a trailer hitch like the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 11128 on your 1989 Suzuki Sidekick. The bar can then be reinstalled if the hitch is removed but it will need to be left off the vehicle while the trailer hitch is present.
