How to Install a Hayes Brake Controller on a 2000 Ford F-250
Question:
I would like to buy the Hayes brake controller however I do not know what harness will connect the brake controller to my truck. I have a 2000 Ford F-250. As long as I can get the right wire harness to hook the controller into my truck I will gladly buy both. Also I want to make sure the 4 way to 7 way plug adapter I am buying is correct for my truck.

In order to install a Hayes brake controller like the Hayes Engage Trailer Brake Controller part # HA81760 on your 2000 Ford F-250 you will want to use the Custom Wiring Adapter part # HA81783-HBC which is a direct plug and play fit. I have attached a video which shows where the factory port is located for you.
I took a look at you order and can confirm that the Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness part # 118243 is correct for you.
