Your Prodigy P3 # 90195 has some troubleshooting built in. Press the Menu/Options button to view the setup screen then select Help and press OK (menu button). Then select Trouble Shoot and press OK (menu button). There are 4 functions available for diagnostic and troubleshooting:
battery voltage (black wire coming into your controller)
stoplight voltage which displays voltage supplied from your stoplight switch with your brake pedal depressed (this is the red wire coming into your controller) and should be 0.00 when you don't hit your brake pedal, but should have a numerical reading when you depress the pedal.
Output Voltage (blue wire) this displays the average voltage provided to the trailer brakes whether you hit the brake pedal when moving or when you use the manual override this should have a reading.
Output Current displays the Amps provided to the trailer brakes when moving using the brake pedal or the manual override.
If you let me know those numbers, I can help you troubleshoot the controller or your trailer for issues. You can also unplug the controller for 15 minutes and it will restart the unit itself when plugged back in.
