Compatibility of Custom GM Trailer Brake Controller Wiring Harness for Tekonsha Brake Controller
Question:
Are the brake controller wires the same for my 05 Denali as on my 02 Tahoe? I took controller out of my Tahoe and installed it in my Denali. Trailer brakes work but only if I apply them manually. Do not activate with the pedal. What could cause this?

The Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - GM # 3025-P was the confirmed fit for GM model years 1999-2002. The custom wiring harness you want is # 3015-P which is a fit for 2003 to some 2007 models of GM SUV and Trucks.
You can use the same adapter if you so choose, but you will need to change the red wire (brake pedal) wire location as the pin out has changed. I've attached photos to assist.
