Fifth wheel hitches should be centered right above the rear axle or slightly forward of it. Since you have a 2014 Ram 2500 with the factory rail kit and the rail adapter part # RP30154 and B and W Patriot # BWRVK3255 you wouldn't need to worry too much about hitch placement as the rail kit of the truck and adapter have already placed the hitch where it needs to be. You can position the head of the hitch forward and back if needed but that adjustment is really only for helping with cab clearance. Basically as long as you have enough clearance with any hitch head position when making turns between the trailer nose and the cab of the truck you are totally fine.
