Troubleshooting Installation of Lippert Electric Step Switch
Question:
when I hook up the new door switch the step extends when door is closed and retracts when door is open. Do I have the wrong switch or installed wrong?? The other thing is the switch is white not black like in your parts list?

It sounds like you simply installed the switch, like part # LC301694, incorrectly. All you need to do is swap the wires that you have connected and it should work perfectly. I am not sure why you have a different color but that shouldn't matter especially if it is operating.
