Can the Stromberg Carlson Electric Jack Part # JET-3755 Draw Power from the Vehicle's Battery
Question:
Will I be able to connect the Stromberg jack to my trailer plug and power the jack with my vehicle battery?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack part # JET-3755 will draw 30 amps under load. If you attached the 10 gauge power wire on the jack to the 12 volt pin on the trailer side trailer connector and the 12 volt trailer connector circuit on the vehicle was rated for 30 amps then yes, technically you could use the vehicle's battery to power the jack.
However, the distance the power must travel from the vehicle's battery to the jack will put too much stress on the motor and is not recommended. Instead, I recommend installing a 12 volt auxiliary battery on the trailer and use that to power the jack. You can then use the 12 volt power on the trailer connector to provide a maintenance charge for the battery used for the jack.
I have attached a review video for you.
