Installation of Two Thule Hull-A-Port Kayak Carriers on 2008 Honda Element

Question:

Is it possible to install 2 J-Syle kayak roof-top carriers on top of a 2008 Honda Element? If not, can you recommend a high quality dual kayak roof-rack system? Thank you.

Anytime you are going to haul cargo on the roof of your 2008 Honda Element you will want to check the owners manual or with the Honda dealer for what the roof capacity is for your vehicle. The roof capacity will let you know how many pounds you will be able to haul on the roof of your vehicle.

To install two of the Thule Hull-A-Port Kayak Carriers, part # TH834, on the roof of your Honda Element you will need to install a roof rack with cross bars that run from side-to-side. You will need to have crossbars that are at least 50 inches long in order to have the proper amount of space for two J-Style carriers loaded with kayaks.

For a roof rack on the Honda Element I recommend the Thule Podium Foot Pack, part # TH460R, with the Thule Fit Kit, part # THKIT3109, and the Thule 53 inch WingBars, part # TH711400 in silver or # TH711420 in black. This roof rack will give you 53 inch long cross bars that will work to carry two Thule # TH835PRO kayak carriers on your vehicle.
