On the 2007 GMC Sierra new body style with a 7-Way connector on the bumper, the wires for the brake controller installation are located under the left side of the instrument panel, to the left of the steering column. The wires will be there whether you have a tow package or not. There will be four or five blunt cut wires that can be identified by a white label that is attached to them and the colors of the wires should be (1) Red/Black wire, (1) White wire, (1) Light Blue/White wire and (1) Dark Blue wire and possibly (1) Orange wire. If your vehicle has the orange fifth wire, it is not needed for installation of a brake controller. I am including a link to a FAQ page that will show you how to wire your brake controller to those wires under your dash.
There are also two wires that are located under the vehicles hood that will have to be connected to make the tow package functional. The FAQ link that I have included will also show you where those two wires are located and how to attach them to the vehicle.
I am also including a link to a video of a brake controller being installed on a 2008 GMC Sierra. It will show you where the wires are located under the dash and how to connect them.
If you are needing a brake controller I would recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885. This is our most popular brake controller.
