Options For Replacing Axle on Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a 1972 dual axel 17’ travel trailer with the old square axel electric trailer brakes. I can’t find new brakes and hubs. My option are to order new moder axels with leaf springs and electric brakes and hub...or I order an axel-less set up with electric brakes. The only problem is the cost for the axel-less are over double the cost. Any other ideas?

The two options you mentioned really are the only options you are going to find. The Axle-Less systems like the part # ASR1THDS03 are really nice but the price is pretty steep on them. If it's a trailer you plan to keep for a long time it might be a worthwhile investment, but if the trailer isn't your "pride and joy" maybe a standard axle would be a better option.
You are going to need to measure your current axles in a few places to get the correct one as we don't have access to what your numbers reference.
You will need to measure from hub face to hub face and then from the spring seat centers. You will also need to know what bolt pattern you have on your current hubs. I attached a help article on how to determine this as well.
I also attached a link to a page with all of the axles we carry.
