How to Lock Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack for Fat Bikes C18085-FB
Question:
Is this rack lockable?
asked by: Barb
Expert Reply:
Curt's 2 Bike Platform Rack for Fat Bikes # C18085-FB includes an anti-rattle threaded hitch pin that will reduce motion of the rack in your hitch but this feature prevents use of a standard hitch lock. No worries though since you can use a simple cable lock such as # e98891 (10-foot) or # C23666 (6-foot) to both lock your bikes to the rack and also to lock the rack to your hitch receiver by running the cable through a safety chain loop on your hitch.
If you prefer a 2-bike Fat Bike platform rack that has integrated locks (so nothing else needs to be ordered) and your bikes do not have front fenders then you might prefer the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo 2 rack # RKY10007-05. This wheel-mount platform rack shares similar features with the Curt but includes locks for the rack itself and for your bikes.
