Could Self Adjusting Dexter Trailer Brake Assemblies be Manually Adjusted
Question:
Can part # K23-478-479 brakes be manually adjusted if need be. I just finished installing two right side sets in tandem, and one wheel seems to be dragging against the lining more than the other one and I would like to back the brake lining off some on the one that is dragging more.

You can manually adjust self adjusting brakes like the part # K23-478-479 that you referenced. You basically just use the access port on the back of the assembly to move the star wheel to the desired tightness. The linkage for the self-adjusting hardware will partially obstruct access but it is possible to get in there far enough to make the adjustment as I've done it before. For a brake spoon we have the part # W80630.
Most likely though the one that is dragging the most is closest to the correct adjustment and the others will catch up as you apply the brakes of the trailer several times.
