WIll the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller Work on a 2017 Jaguar F-Pace
Question:
I recently had my Jaguar F Pace factory tow package 7pin electronically setup. The trailer lights are all working correctly. My F Pace is all LED lighting. I have read pairing the controller to and LED vehicle will be a problem. Could you confirm anything I need to do for this unit to work with a Jaguar F pace? Will I be able to use pairing instructions or will I need to follow a diff procedure / purchase additional components?

I spoke to my contact at Tekonsha and unfortunately neither they nor we have tested the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # TK94FR on a 2017 Jaguar F-Pace so I would not be able to give you a definite yes or no answer. The LED tailights on your F-Pace will not be a problem though that is not to say that there are not other issues.
The main thing you would want to confirm is that the 7-way has 12 volt power. As long as it does then the Prodigy RF should work for you. I recommend using the controller with the Trailer Connector Adapter part # 20142 as this will help to put more of a load on the 12 volt power which has been an issue on some vehicles.
The Prodigy RF is the only brake controller we have that is not going to require you to splice into any of the wires on your vehicle and I can only assume that is not something you are wanting to do. Therefore, I recommend giving the Prodigy RF a try. The synching process will be the same as listed in the attached instructions.
