Does SMI DUO Supplemental Braking System Require Anything Else to Function on 2017 Chevy Sonic
Question:
HI I am looking to purchase the SM99251 for a 2017 Chevy Sonic. I plan on using it with the BlueOX Ascent towbar - baseplate combo BX1703-70. Once the SM99251 is installed will all the brake lights and directional signals work on the Sonic? Or is there something else needed? I greatly appreciate your help.

The SMI DUO # SM99251 is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Chevy Sonic and will easily allow all of your vehicle taillights to continue functioning like normal. No other parts are needed. We had the chance to install this kit on a similar 2014 Chevy Sonic which I attached a link to the install video for you to check out.
When flat towing the vehicle you will need a lighting kit though so that the tow vehicle can control the vehicle taillights. For that the Roadmaster LED bulb and socket kit part # RM-152-LED would be a great choice. I attached an install video for this kit on a similar 2018 Sonic for you to check out too.
