Question:

I have replace both motor and gear box and still when I connect the arm to step it comes out fine but when closing it grunts and stops. It is like something is binding and I can not figure it out. I released the pin and the motor assembly works fine but put it back on step and no. I have to take motor off then realine the arm to step put pin in then attaché the motor back

It sounds like there is an issue with your linkage assembly that is causing the gears and motors to stop. I recommend using the Lippert Components Kwikee Step Gear/Linkage with A (1101425) # LC379160.

We purchased the upgrade kit for series 32 KwiKee steps. We had to use the pigtail as our 4 prong was different.Steps work well EXCEPT#1Switch on / door open, steps are out door closed, steps inSwitch off / door closed, steps go out door open steps go in and stay# 2 I reversed the 2 wires to the motor and now thisswitch on / door open the steps come out, close door and steps go in.the steps used to stay out when in the stationary position.Any help would be appreciated.

The current Kwikee Step assemblies are wired so that they will automatically retract when the door is closed AND the ignition is turned on. If they continue to automatically retract even with the ignition off I wonder if this particular wire is connected to something that's always getting power. My best suggestion is to just recheck all the wiring again from the switch to make sure everything is connected properly.
