Replacement Shear Pin for Ultra-Fab Ultra 3502 Powered Tongue Jack

Question:

I am trying to diagnose why my ultra-fab 3502 electric jack is acting up. It started out intermitantly not working and then died. I find that if I tap the resetable fuse I can get it working. Does that mean the fuse is bad? In the meantime I was using an impact to raise and lower the jack in the last camping trip and I think I sheared a key that engages the pinion to the smaller of the 2 gears. Is this just a square key?

Powered trailer jacks allow use of a manual crank for emergency purposes (like a power loss) and some can be used with a drill attachment and a cordless drill. But an impact wrench puts too much stress into the mechanism and this type of tool should not be used on a jack. We do offer a replacement shear pin # UF38-751025 that fit jack model Ultra 3502 for serial numbers up to 010150 (which were made before 2010).

My tech contact at Ultra-Fab thinks the self re-setting circuit breaker in this jack has suffered water damage. They now offer an epoxy-dipped breaker that is more resistant to moisture and this can be retro-fitted to your jack. You'll need to cut the wires from the original breaker, splice the new one in using butt connectors # DW05745-5.
