Bike Rack Recommendation for Nirve Paul Frank Skully Beach Cruiser
Question:
Hi, I have a 2012 Toyota Highlander that has a hitch. I have a men’s Nirve Paul Frank skully beach cruiser that has 26” wheels and is around 45 lbs in weight. I would like a rack that holds two bikes. I’m Just concerned about the weight of the Nirve bike. I see many racks say bikes can only be 35 pounds each.I used to haul it on my old corolla that has a truck rack and never had any issues but wondering what I should get for my suv. Thx!

45 lbs is a bit heavier than what most bike racks are rated for, but we still have great options that would work well with your Nirve Pal Frank Skully beach cruiser. The Saris Freedom SuperClamp EX part # SA4025F would be a great option for you. It's a platform bike rack that only grabs the bike by the tire which is the easiest to work work with and protects the bike's frame from contact. This rack has a 60 lb per bike capacity too which means your 45 lb bike would be very easy to carry.
Another great option is the Thule Easy Fold part # TH903202 that you referenced. This is designed for heavier e-bikes too so your beach cruiser would be no problem for it. It also comes with ramps to make for easy loading.
