Trouble Installing the TracRac SR with a Tonneau Cover on a 2014 Ram 2500

Question:

Hello, I am having an impossibile time trying to make sure the sliding rails are parallel on my 2014 dodge ram quad cab with the 66inch box. I also could not see how my Access Tonnea Cover larado was going to work with using the front hole specified for my truck on the rail. The rails would have beed tight to the cover near the cab making it hard to open and use. Last night I did move the postion of the front hole to a hole right next to the specified one which then gave me more space between the tonnea cover and the side of the rail. It seems that the truck bed is not square as I have reasearched, but I still do not see how the track system would work well with the specified holes. I am seeing almost a 3inch difference from the front rail to the back rail postion. I was able to install the uprights on the rails but they do have a tough time sliding. I also noticed in the box of hardware for the rails there was some self sticking pads/pieces that I have not idea what they are for. Let me know your thoughts and thank you for your time.

The bed rails on your 2014 Ram 2500 may not be perfectly straight but they will still allow for the use of the Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack part # TH43003XT-501EX. The problem is that they are fighting for the same space they need to be parallel with the Access Lorado Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover part # 834532001767. Therefore, they will not work together on your truck.

The only tonneau covers we have for you that will work with the TracRac SR on your Ram is the BAK Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover part # BAK39213 or the BAK Revolver X4s Hard Tonneau Cover part # BAK64ZR. These covers both install completely inside the bed rails which is what makes them compatible with the TracRac SR.

I was not able to reference the adhesive pad in either the parts list or installation instructions for this rack so it would appear that they are not needed.
