Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch and Sidewinder Wedge for 2016 GMC 2500 with Elite Underbed Rail Pucks
Question:
Hi I am purchasing a 2016 gmc sierra 2500 and having the underbed rails installed Part # 30868. I have also purchased the 20k M5 fifth wheel hitch Part #30890 to fit that rail system. My question is will that hitch be compatible with the sidewinder pin box that I previously installed on my 2012 Rockwood 8281ss. Thanks!

The Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP30868 is a confirmed fit for your 2016 GMC Sierra 2500.
The Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Single Jaw - 20,000 lbs # RP30890 is unfortunately not a fit for that Under-Bed rail system. The pucks are not in the same location as the Chevy/GMC factory pucks.
You instead will want the Reese M5 Series Pre-Assembled 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Wiring Harness # RP30922 for a 27,000lb capacity or the 20,000lb # RP30921. The Elite pucks are located in the Ford factory puck positions, so you can also use a Ford Factory prep hitch like the B&W Companion 20,000 lb # BWRVK3300.
Then for your Sidewinder pin box, you will want the Custom Wedge # RP44FR for the M5 hitch options or the # SWW-06 for the B&W hitch.
