Recommended Flat Towing System for 2010 Buick Enclave For Easy Install
Question:
I have a2010 Buick Enclave that i wish to flat tow with my Class A motorhome. I already got the blue ox alpha towbar and i need advice on what else I need. Im leaning towards the BlueOx patriot brake system. Is there a big difference between the Patriot and the Patriot II? Also what lighting system do you recommend? Does the Patriot include break away protection? other than base plates, braking and lighting what else is needed? Id be doing all my own install. This is my first Motorhome and tow vehicle setup.

For your 2010 Buick Enclave and your Blue Ox Alpha Towbar # BX7380, I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX1708. This is a custom fit that will work perfectly with your system. The tow bar comes with the safety cables needed, so then you will simply need a high-low adapter bar compatible with your system. I have attached an article to assist as well as linked the page to your options.
Then I recommend the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56106 which will easily connect to the existing wiring harness located behind each tail light. There is no cutting or splicing required. Then you will need at extension loop like # HM48235. You will also need the fuse bypass # RM-76517 to make getting your vehicle ready for towing as easy as flipping a switch.
Finally, the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System - Proportional # BLU37TR is my recommendation for your supplemental towing. It does include the breakaway protection and is easy to install and remove as needed. The 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps # RM-9332 is also needed for this installation. The Blue Ox Patriot system has been upgraded to the Patriot II and the original was discontinued. It simply has a upgraded accelerometer, faster actuator for better response, and increased range for the RF controller.
