Rear View Safety Wireless Hitch Camera
Question:
I found the RVS-83112-BA Camera system on the RVS website. Did not see it on yours. Maybe you can answer my questions. I want to place the camera inside an enclosed motorcycle trailer to be able to continuously monitor the bikes while traveling. This camera system RVS-83112-BA uses a rechargeable battery while the RVS-83112 uses a 9 volt replacement battery. Questions: Does the rechargeable system shut off after 15 minutes like stated on the 9 volt system? Can I rig the rechargeable up to an external power source for extended monitoring? Will this work dependably inside an enclosed trailer? And of course, is there another system that you could recommend in this price range?

The camera you asked about is exactly the same as the Rear View Safety Wireless Hitch Camera # RVS-83112 with the exception that this one uses a 9 volt battery and not a rechargeable battery and the same features, including shut off, apply to both. You also cannot rig either to an external power source and neither will work reliably inside a trailer, they are designed to be used outside a trailer.
The option that I recommend over the Rear View is the Swift Hitch Wireless Camera and Monitor # 04928. This system gives you up to 300' of transmission distance, which is more than 4 times that of the Rear View, and also has a rotating stem to make it easier to point the camera where you want than the up-and-down Rear View camera. The Swift Hitch # 04928, which also uses a rechargeable battery, is currently our most popular wireless camera option.
