To choose a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.

Trailer tongue weight is usually between 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight. When your trailer is empty that would make the tongue weight around 470 to 705 pounds. And at 6,000 pounds it would be around 600 to 900 pounds.

For a system that covers most of that range I recommend the Reese Steadi-Flex # RP66559. This system is rated for 500 to 1,000 pounds tongue weight. If you determine you need a different range let me know and I can make other recommendations.

The above system includes the shank but not the ball. For a 2-5/16 inch ball that is compatible I recommend # 19286. I have linked a video on this line of weight distribution as well as links to our helpful articles on weight distribution and determining tongue weight.
