Replacement for Older Yakima SkyBox Pro 21 Cargo Box

Question:

I have an older skybox pro 21 where the locking mechanism seized. After talking with yakima, I removed the rivets from one side the ball/male side of the locking mechanism. I was hoping to replace the rivets and maybe replace the locking system . I have neglected to add graphite or anything to the locking system, so I would assume it is well and stuck shut for good. Do you have the parts to do this fix? Thanks,

I checked with Yakima regarding your older SkyBox Pro 21 Cargo Box and it doesn't look like the replacement parts and rivets needed to completely rebuild the locking mechanism on your box are available.

Your best option is likely to replace the box itself with a current model, like the Yakima SkyBox 21 # Y07337. This aerodynamic box features a dual-side-opening lid so you can access your cargo from either side of the vehicle and provides 21 cubic feet of cargo space. It measures 92 inches long, 36 inches wide, and 18 inches tall.
