For an extremely similar truck bed step that is confirmed to fit your 2015 GMC Sierra 2500, I recommend taking a look at the Bestop TrekStep Truck Bumper Step # B7530715. This is a really nice, spring-loaded step that can be easily lowered for use and can retract under the truck for storage. It will work with the tailgate open or closed and will be a complete bolt-on installation without the need for any drilling. The step platform itself measures 11-1/2 inches long, 6-1/2 inches wide, and has a 300 pound weight capacity.
