Troubleshooting Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller Showing Red Dot and Number without Trailer
Question:
i had it installed. when driving with out trailer connected it has the red dot. but when i push brake peddle a 0.6 appears and goes away when i release it. is this normal? it is on a 2018 ford transit 350. i have not connected it to a trailer yet. Thanks

If the red dot on your Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller # C24VV remains on without a trailer connected, this can be an indication that the red wire from the controller is connected to the wrong side of the stoplight switch on your vehicle. I recommend verifying that the red wire is connected to the cold side of the stop light switch, which is the wire that ONLY receives power with the brake pedal depressed, and no power with any other function. You can use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to verify the correct wire to connect to.
