Can RoadMaster RoadWing Removable Mud Flap System # RM-4400 withstand Exhaust Heat
Question:
I purchase a removable mud flap system that fits into the receiver of my husbands 2011 Silverado Chevy HD 2500, the flap portion was actually some sort of fibrous material that melted into one big glob the first time used. The heat from the exhaust melted the material to the point of it being nonusable, paid over $200 and now it can not be used. It was ruined first time used. Can the Roadwing mudflaps take exhaust heat? The exhaust pipe comes out straight and then angles off to the right at the end. Thank you for your time.

Expert Reply:
RoadMaster RoadWing Removable Mud Flap System # RM-4400 or any system will need to be trimmed if the flaps are in the path of the exhaust. Exhaust can be extraordinarily hot as you have found so the flaps will have to be trimmed or you will keep having this problem.
