In order to install a 7-way trailer connector on your 2017 Ford Expedition with a factory 4-way trailer connector, you are going to need a 4 to 7-way adapter. If your trailer has a 7-way trailer connector but does not have brakes then you can just use part # 37185. However, if you trailer has a 7-way trailer connector and does have brakes then you will want to use part # ETBC7 instead. This kit comes with the rest of the wires and circuit breakers you will need to setup a brake controller.
If you do not already have a brake controller, I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller due to its continual diagnostic checks and integrated safeguards. You can also use part # 22292 to install the controller.
I have attached an install video on a similar vehicle for you as well
