Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Running Lights that Stay On All the Time When Plugged In
Question:
All my lights work. When I turn off my truck, all my trailer lights stay on. I’ve waited to see if eventually they will shut off, but unless I unplug the trailer they will not. This is a brand new trailer, with a brand new trailer plug. What should I do?

It would appear you have a short between the running light circuit of your trailer and the 12 volt accessory circuit and that is why the running lights have power all the time. I know the trailer is new but it's possible it was wired incorrectly or the issue is on the truck's wiring.
I'd recommend going over the wiring for both and fixing any shorts as you find them.
