Adding a Cable Lock to Increase the Security of the Yakima FullSwing Bike Rack
Question:
Ive read another answer but there is still something that bothers me. The Yakima FullSwing comes as 2 parts, that part that attaches to the car hitch and has the swinging arms and the other part that holds the bikes. What connects these 2 parts is a single bolt which also acts as the axle for the second part. Is there a way to prevent a thief or at least make it harder for them from unfastening that bolt and stealing that part with all the bikes on it?

I think you're giving a would-be thief too much credit. Anything that takes time, like disassembling a bike rack, is not appealing to a thief and they will move on to an easier target. But for the more ambitious thief they could be deterred from this action by the addition of a cable lock such as # e98891. Weave the cable lock through and around the bikes and through the safety chain loops on the trailer hitch for even more security.
