Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack for a Rockwood Roo

Question:

Which hitch would you recommend for a 2018 Rockwood Roo 183 to carry a 4 bike rack presently looking at a Yakima longhaul bike rack Model: 8002476. I am assuming the Ultra-fab Products Mfg Part #:35-946403. If so will I need to remove and remount the 2 rear stabilizers? Will any of the Curt model hitches allow me to not have to remove and remount the stabilizers so I do not have to hire a welder? Many thanks.

If the stabilizer jacks are at the very end of the frame on your Rockwood Roo then they will likely have to be moved. Trailer hitches for trailers and RVs such as # UF35-946403 are going to require that area in order to install.

It is possible though that you could use Curt hitch # 13703 because it is so versatile and not have to move jacks or weld anything. You may be able to bolt it to the sides of the frame rails depending on the type of frame the Roo has. I have linked the instructions for the Curt hitch so you can compare the various ways it installs to your Roo's frame.

For a bike rack, the Yakima LongHaul # Y02476 is a great choice and I am certain that whichever hitch you go with you will like the LongHaul. I have linked a video on the bike rack as well.
