Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Ram 1500 Short Bed

Question:

So im just curious i have a smaller trailer that only weighs 5000 lbs.....is it still unsafe to tow in manouver mode i have a dodge 1500 5.7 litre with a hemi.....will that still make a big difference? Thanks for your time.

I have a great solution for you, but you have to make sure you keep the fifth wheel trailer slid forward at all times if you aren't in a parking lot type situation.

The hitch solution I'd recommend for your 2017 Ram 1500 6-1/2 foot bed is the Demco Hijacker Autoslide part # DM8550034 which will automatically slide as you make tight turns so that you don't have to get out and activate the slider mechanism.

Then for a rail kit you'd want the custom fit kit part # DM8552030-71 which is a custom fit kit for your truck and would minimize drilling over a universal kit.
