Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2016 Toyota Tundra with In Bed Camper

Question:

Hello from Colorado My 2016 Tundra crewmax has a small payload of 1175 pounds. I would add your Firestone air bags to help with a Four Wheel Camper weighing 975 pounds. Are there other additions you can suggest that I can install myself? Thanks!

The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2445 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2016 Toyota Tundra. This is a great system and it will do a really nice job of enhancing the rear suspension on your Tundra in order to reduce strain on the axle and prevent sag with the Four Wheel Camper on the truck. The air bags can be adjusted manually, side to side, with individual inflation valves to help maintain an even load distribution.

While this will work great to enhance the truck's suspension, please keep in mind that this or any suspension enhancement system will not actually increase the truck's weight-carrying/payload capacity. You will still need to stay below the limits as stated in the Tundra's owner's manual.

I have attached an installation video for this system on the 2017 Toyota Tundra that you can use for reference.

Another system that might offer some additional help is the TorkLift StableLoad Rear Suspension Upgrade # TLA7311. The StableLoad pads can work along with the Firestone air springs to provide improved handling and reduced sway and body roll with your truck.

I have attached the written installation instructions on this kit so you can get a good idea as to how they install and operate.
