Firestone Airbags PSI Range and Surge On Gauge When Absorbing Road Shock

Question:

When I have a heavy load and have my air bags pumped up, I’ll go over a bump and the pressure gauge in the cab will surge as expected because of the extra pressure question: is max psi referring to flat and level ground no driving, or maximum surge pressure when driving? Thanks!

Expert Reply:

Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs like # F2061 have a minimum air pressure of 5 psi and a maximum pressure of 100 psi when inflated under load. This range does account for the additional pressure (surge) experienced when you hit a bump or pothole.
