Installing A Base Rail Kit in a 2000 Chevrolet K2500 with a 6-1/2 Bed
Question:
I have a A20 hitch that i am mounting a R20 roller to. I have no instructions for mounting the rails with the R20 roller. It is being mounted in a 2000 Chev silverado k2500 short box 6.5 ft box. I would like the measurements for placement of the rails. Thank you,

If you are trying to install a 5th wheel base rail kit then I would need to know the specific manufacturer to be able to give you detailed information (that is if we carry them). For example, the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit # RP30035 state thee the rearmost base rail should be installed 25-1/8" up from the rear edge of the truck bed (not including the tailgate).
Once you have the rear rail in place you can use the slider portion of the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R20 Slider # C16541 to determine where the forwardmost rail needs to sit.
Please note that installation instructions may vary between manufacturers so it is always best to follow the specific instructions for your kit.
