Hitch Bike Rack to Clear Rear Spare of 2014 Jeep Wrangler with Oversize Spare
Question:
I have a 2014 Jeep Rubicon with rear spare tire oversized, and Im looking for a hitch styled bike rack for 2 beach cruiser bikes. If my measurements are correct, I believe there is 13 1/2 inch from the center of my hitch pinhole and the exterior of the spare tire. Is there a good hitch styled bike rack made to meet my/our needs? Thanks in advance!!

I appreciate you getting me the distance from the center of your hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out on the rear spare. That is the correct info needed to pick out a bike rack to clear it. The best option we probably have is going to be the Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR which has exactly 13-1/2 inches from center of pin hole out past rear spare. This is the largest distance we have for a hitch bike rack so you might remeasure your setup to be sure as it would be very close.
If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Kuat Bike Frame Adapter Bar # UB01 to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
