Best Swing-Away Bike Rack for a 2011 Toyota RAV4 with a Spare Tire
Question:
Which will be the recommended bike rack for 4 bikes for the 2011 RAV4 that has a rear spare tire covered spared tire? The car has side opening rear door that we will like to access without removing the bikes? Will a tilting carrier bike or will a swing away one be better?

If you would like access to the rear hatch area on your 2011 Toyota RAV4 without removing your bikes then you definitely need to go with a swing-away bike rack. A tilting bike rack may allow you to slightly open the door, but it wouldn't be nearly as much room as a swinging bike rack allows. Please note that you need to check the weight capacities of your RAV4 to ensure that you don't overload it, and you need a 2" trailer hitch receiver like part # e98864 to carry the bikes.
The best 4-bike swing away racks that we have is the Yakima FullSwing # Y02465 which can carry up to 4 bikes weighing in at 40 lbs each, comes with bike and hitch locks, has integrated anti-sway cradles and anti-rattle SpeedKnob, as well as the swingaway feature. Please note that if any of your bikes don't have a horizontal crosstube you may need an adapter bar like part # Y02531 to keep the bike level.
I have attached videos of the trailer hitch and the FullSwing for you to check out.
